Peel. Stick. Plug. Done. — No drill, no bracket, no wasted roof space. Real solar power that fits your vehicle, your shape, your life.

The Fora Solar 130W Full Black Flexible Solar Panel, 25.8% Back Contact Solar Cell is built for surfaces that rigid panels can't touch — curved rooftops, RTT shells, trailer tops, truck cabs, boat decks, and everything in between. Ultra-thin ETFE surface, monocrystalline cells, and a 3M adhesive mount make installation straightforward: clean the surface, peel the backing, press and hold. Most installs take 30–60 minutes with no special tools required.

⚡ How much power does it generate per day?

Based on 130W panel output × 80% real-world efficiency:

☀️ Sun hours 1 panel 2 panels
3 hrs (overcast) 312 Wh 624 Wh
4 hrs (partly sunny) 416 Wh 832 Wh
5 hrs (sunny) 520 Wh 1040 Wh
6 hrs (full sun) 624 Wh 1248 Wh

🔋 What can you run? (based on 4 sunny hours = 416 Wh)

Device 1 panel 2 panels
🧊 12V fridge (50W) 8.3 hrs All day+night ✓
💻 Laptop (45W) 9.2 hrs All day+night ✓
😷 CPAP machine (25W) 16.6 hrs All night ✓
📱 Phone charges (×6) ×10 charges ✓ ×19 charges ✓
💡 LED lights ×4 (20W) All day ✓ All night ✓
🌀 12V fan (15W) All day ✓ All day+night ✓

💛 Why most heavy users choose 2 panels

📦 Same box. Same shipping. Double the power.

Flexible panels stack flat — 2 panels ship together in the same parcel for nearly the same freight cost as 1. You're paying for extra watts, not extra shipping.

  • CPAP users: A 25W CPAP running 8 hours overnight needs ~200Wh. Add a fridge and you're already over 1 panel's daily output. 2 panels give you a real overnight buffer.
  • Van lifers & overlanders: Fridge + laptop + lights + phone = 300–380Wh/day. On a cloudy day, 1 panel generates ~192Wh. 2 panels keep you covered.
  • Better roof coverage: Mount panels at different angles — one always catching sun regardless of which direction you're parked.
  • Redundancy: If one panel gets shaded by a tree or antenna, the other keeps charging your battery.

🔧 Custom solar panels for any vehicle or surface

Can you put a flexible solar panel on a curved or unusual surface? Yes — that's exactly what Fora Solar is built for. We cut panels to your exact dimensions, whether you need a custom solar panel for an RTT (rooftop tent), a trailer roof, a truck cab, or a port crane.

Looking for a solar panel for your rooftop tent? The flexible design bends up to 30° and adheres directly to iKamper, Thule, CVT, and most hard-shell RTT surfaces without drilling or voiding your warranty.

Vehicle / Application Why flexible panels work
🏕️ RTT / Rooftop tent Curved shell, no drilling, peel-and-stick mount
🚚 Trailer / Semi-truck Full-length roof coverage, aerodynamic low profile
🚛 Long-haul truck fleet Cab roof charging, idle reduction, fleet pricing available
🚜 Snow plow / Sweeper Curved hood fit, vibration-resistant adhesive
🏗️ Port crane / Gantry crane Industrial surface mounting, custom shape cutting
🚐 RV / Campervan / Caravan Curved roof fit, lightweight, no bracket needed
⛵ Yacht / Boat / Marine Salt/UV resistant ETFE, bimini & deck mounting
🚌 Coach / Shuttle bus Full rooftop wrap, custom dimensions

How custom orders work: Send us a photo of your surface and your dimensions. We'll quote a custom-cut panel within 24 hours. Minimum order for custom shapes: 10 units.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use a flexible solar panel on a rooftop tent (RTT)?

Yes — and it's one of the best use cases for flexible panels. The Fora Solar 130W panel bends up to 30° and adheres directly to hard-shell and soft-shell RTT surfaces including iKamper, Thule, CVT, and most aftermarket brands. Installation requires no drilling and won't void your RTT warranty. On a 4-hour sunny day, it generates around 256Wh — enough to keep your phone, lights, and a small fan running throughout the night at camp.

Can I put a solar panel on a snow plow, sweeper, or heavy equipment?

Yes. Fora Solar flexible panels are used on snow plows, road sweepers, port cranes, and industrial vehicles where rigid panels would crack or shift. The 3M adhesive backing holds firmly on curved metal hood and cab surfaces, and the ETFE coating handles temperature extremes from -40°C winter conditions to desert heat. For commercial fleet inquiries, contact us for volume pricing.

Are custom-shaped solar panels available for trailers and semi-trucks?

Yes. Fora Solar offers custom-cut flexible panels for trailer rooftops, semi-truck cabs, and long-haul fleet applications. Send us your vehicle dimensions or a photo of the surface — we'll provide a quote within 24 hours. Minimum order for custom shapes is 10 units. Many fleet operators use multiple panels per vehicle across the full trailer roof to maximize charging output during transit.

Is a flexible solar panel good for a boat or yacht?

Yes. The ETFE surface on Fora Solar panels is UV-stable and salt-spray resistant, making it well-suited for marine environments including bimini tops, cabin roofs, and curved deck surfaces. Unlike glass panels, the flexible design won't shatter from wave impact or vibration. Pair with a 12V marine charge controller for best results. The full-black finish also blends cleanly into most boat aesthetics.

Do I need 1 or 2 solar panels for van life or full-time RV living?

For weekend trips with basic devices (phone, lights, fan), 1 × 80W panel is usually sufficient — generating around 256Wh on a partly sunny day. For full-time van life or RV living with a 12V fridge, laptop, CPAP machine, and multiple devices, 2 panels are strongly recommended. The total daily draw of those devices is typically 300–380Wh, which exceeds what 1 panel produces on cloudy days. Importantly, flexible panels ship flat and stack together, so 2 panels ship in the same box for nearly the same freight cost as 1.

How do I install a flexible solar panel — what do I need?

Installation is straightforward and requires no drilling. You'll need: isopropyl alcohol to clean and degrease the surface, the included 3M adhesive backing, and optionally a protective edge sealant for permanent outdoor installs. Steps: clean the surface thoroughly, let it dry completely, peel the adhesive backing, align the panel, press firmly from the centre outward, and hold for 60 seconds. Most installs take 30–60 minutes. For curved surfaces, apply from the centre and work toward the edges to avoid air bubbles.
