Fits Your Tonneau. Charges While You Drive. — Stick right on your Ford F-150 tonneau cover. No drilling, no rewiring, no wasted bed space. Real solar power, invisible from the road.

The Fora Solar 285W Flexible Solar Panel for Ford F-150 BAKFlip MX4 Hard Tonneau Cover is purpose-fit for the flat, unobstructed surface of your tonneau cover — the most underused solar real estate on any truck. Ultra-thin ETFE film, Grade A PERC monocrystalline cells, and a clean adhesive mount mean installation takes under an hour with no special tools: clean the cover, peel the backing, press and hold. Once mounted, it charges your 12V battery continuously while you drive — keeping a fridge cold, devices topped up, and accessories running without ever touching your ignition.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this panel actually stick to my tonneau cover?

Yes. The panels use an industrial-grade adhesive sealant designed for outdoor and automotive surfaces. Clean the tonneau surface with isopropyl alcohol first, let it dry completely, then apply the sealant and press firmly. Most installs hold permanently through car washes, highway speeds, and extreme weather. For extra security on textured surfaces, we recommend running a bead of sealant around all four edges.

Can I open and close the tonneau cover with the panels mounted?

Yes — flexible panels move with your tonneau. On a BAKFlip MX4 style tri-fold cover, the panels fold with the cover sections without cracking or separating, provided the cables are routed with enough slack at each fold point. We recommend routing cables along the panel edges toward the cab and leaving a small loop at each panel joint.

Do I need a solar controller?

Yes — a charge controller (also called a solar regulator) is required to prevent overcharging your 12V battery. Without it, the panel can push excess voltage into your battery and shorten its life significantly. We offer an optional 20A MPPT solar controller with this kit — it's the most efficient type for this panel size and will maximize your charge rate.

How do I connect the panel to my truck battery?

Route the cable from the panel down through the cab — many users run it through the rear window seal or a rubber grommet in the bed rail. Connect the panel output cable to the solar controller's panel input terminals, then connect the controller's battery terminals to your 12V battery or auxiliary battery. The included Y-branch connectors let you wire multiple panels in parallel without extra hardware.

Does driving speed affect how much power I generate?

No — solar panels generate power based on sunlight, not vehicle speed. The panel produces the same output whether you're parked, idling, or doing 80mph on the highway. In fact, driving in direct sunlight on a clear day is often when you'll see peak output, since highway driving tends to happen in open terrain with unobstructed sun exposure.
